Youth Forum
CanTYD hosted three youth forums this year. The first, Youth Expressions, was directed towards addressing the growing concerns of the civil war in Sri Lanka. Partner organizations including Grassroots Youth Collaborative (GYC) and Public Health from the City of Toronto came together for this forum. With over 80 youth, a thought-provoking discussion was held about issues and concerns in the community and how they can be addressed. Due the overwhelming turnout, CanTYD hosted a second youth forum, Youth Expressions Part 2.
CanTYD's third youth forum, Colour Me Canada, was hosted in celebration of Canada Day and its diversity. The forum discussed what it means to be Canadian. Issues such as challenges in the local community, homosexuality, and gender roles in today's society were among the topics discussed.
Upcoming youth forums will include sessions across different neighbourhoods for broader outreach. |
